The StoryOur client wanted to add a dedicated library to their Sammamish home, one that could comfortably serve as both a place to read and a workspace. Drawing inspiration from the work of British architect Robert Adam, we designed the room around the principles of the classic Adam Style, known for its timeless elegance and architectural detail. Traditional elements were balanced with modern touches, including a soft color-wash treatment and Sandberg’s Daphne floral wallpaper. A custom Adam-style mantel became the focal point of the room, framing the fireplace and marble surround. Locally crafted inset cabinetry, painted in Evergreen Fog by Sherwin-Williams and finished with period-inspired crown molding, adds both function and character. A custom upholstered bench with deep drawer storage creates a space to linger while offering practical organization. Natural brass library lights, sconces, and a crystal flush-mount fixture from Visual Comfort complete the space, resulting in a refined library experience.
